Designing a calm path to therapy, and the tools that run it.
Overview
Elixir Helps is an online counselling platform in India. People facing anxiety, stress, relationship or family challenges book confidential sessions with qualified counsellors.
As Lead UI/UX Designer at The Impact Engine, I designed three connected products: the client website, a Super Admin panel that runs the business, and a Counsellor portal that runs the sessions.
Challenge
People who need therapy often delay it because the first step feels risky: Who is this counsellor? Is it private? What will it cost?
Behind the scenes, a growing team needed one place to manage counsellors, sessions, payments and alerts, without ever exposing a client's identity.
Approach
Make the first step feel safe. Real counsellor faces, voices and fees. A profile page shows the approach, languages and an intro video, with slot booking, price and duration in one card beside it.
Privacy by design. Clients appear only as IDs in internal tools, admin login uses two-factor authentication, and every view or export is written to an audit log.
Calm over decoration in the tools. The first admin version was illustrated and on-brand, but slowed real work. I redesigned it around one question per screen: what needs attention today?
Outcome
The website is live at elixirhelps.com, alongside 22 internal screens across two portals. I also ran design QA on the built site, logging every mismatch with Figma for the developers.
